GET INVOLVED

Together, we can make a difference

Your membership makes protection at the State Capitol possible.

It’s that pioneer spirit that keeps small business thriving in Nebraska. NLBA will advocate to preserve your hard work and ensure that government does not interfere with you running a profitable and successful business. Annual membership is a $200 fee to ensure that NLBA can effectively function to protect the licensed beverage industry. Your annual dues provide:

– DRAM shop insurance program eligibility
– 2 warning to minors signs
– Alcoholic liquor sales form
– A full-time retained lobbyist
– Full-time office staff

– Identification register
– Operational employee policy
– Incident/accident form
– A strong legislative program

– Liquor laws pertaining to retailers
– Periodic NLBA newsletter
– Legislative bulletins
– Free notary at main office

Through the efforts of an executive director and the legislative committee, NLBA communicates with legislators and government agencies on all legislation and regulations which would either benefit or harm the licensed beverage retailer. The myriad of problems facing the industry on local, state and national level are too complex for any one person to deal with alone. In numbers, we have strength and no one of us is as powerful as all of us. Ask about our Platinum Retailer program today.  Refer 3 new members to NLBA who join, and become a member of this new and exclusive club. We’ll send you a decal to display in your establishment, list your establishment’s name in the annual newsletter, and give special recognition at the annual meeting.

ADVOCACY

There are two ways you can lose the privilege to sell alcoholic beverages.  One is to violate the laws under which the license was issued, and the second is to have that licensed pulled out from under you because the license has changed.  It can happen. It did once, because no strong national or state association existed to fight the temperance movement.  NLBA exists to protect retailers.

EDUCATION

Through the NLBA newsletter, annual meeting and legislative updates, NLBA places strong emphasis on educating its members on current legislation and happenings at the state government level. Ignorance is not bliss.

COMMUNITY

There is no question that individual licensed beverage dealers must work together through an association to accomplish common goals. Joined together the licensed beverage retailer can maintain an effective voice in the legislature and regulatory bodies located in the nation and state capitols. Get to know your colleagues and band together to protect your business. Help build the NLBA community by becoming a Platinum Retailer member and referring three new members.

WHY WE’RE HERE

We exist to protect your business.

Learn how we’re helping protect the licensed beverage industry.

Since the early 1940’s, the Nebraska Licensed Beverage Association (NLBA), as a non-profit trade association, has been protecting the business interests of the tavern, cocktail lounge, package store, hotel and restaurant and all other licensed beverage retailers.

Through the efforts of an executive director and the legislative committee, NLBA communicates with legislators and government agencies on all legislation and regulations which would either benefit or harm the licensed beverage retailer. As a member of NLBA, you know that your business interests as licensed beverage retailers are being protected on the state level by an established association.
